Gather

Preschool is a place to gather, share knowledge, experience, and ideas, where everyone belongs in a community of support and collaboration.

We work hard to ensure that children, educators, family members, friends and members of our community feel welcome, connected, and celebrated.

We recognise that families are children’s first and most influential teachers, and through genuine partnerships we can work hand in hand to achieve the best outcomes for children.

We recognise that we all come with diversity in our experience, knowledge, way of being, and gather in this shared space with a common purpose and sense of belonging.

Respect

We have a strong respect for inclusivity.

We believe that every person, young and old, has a unique way of being, and that development is unique.

We respect the process of building trust as fundamental in any relationship, and that the sharing of knowledge and achievements leads to a strong sense of self-worth.

We trust in our professional responsiveness and use this awareness/intention to guide and empower children, families, parents, and our staff to build trust in themselves and trust in their community.

Protect

We have a mission to protect the environment, care for the land and animals.

We recognise our relationship to the land on which we gather and show our respect and gratitude to the traditional owners by embedding environmental education and sustainability into daily practice and reflection.

We are strong advocates for the safety and rights of all children. We ensure children have ongoing opportunities to recognise their feelings, share their ideas, assess risk in their play, solve problems, make decisions, and experience

Thrive

We strive to establish and uphold a happy, safe, and fun community. An environment that feels happy and safe leads to strong relationships, where we trust in each other’s capabilities and build skills for lifelong learning,

We embrace play-based learning with intentionality and utilise our flexible rhythm of the day to act responsively to children and their unique ways of being.

We wholeheartedly believe in a holistic, gentle, and responsive approach to early childhood education, providing time and space for children to be captains of their own play-based learning journey.
